LimeWire Store Releases Live at Lime with The Soundtrack of Our Lives
On a rainy afternoon in February, Göteberg, Sweden's The Soundtrack of Our Lives made their way to Stratosphere Sound (which counts ex-Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha as one of its owners) in New York City. Only hours after landing, they plugged in their equipment and cranked out five fantastic numbers that comprise Live at Lime with The Soundtrack of Our Lives.
This just-released exclusive EP for LimeWire Store was engineered and mixed by Grammy-winning producer Geoff Sanoff (Stephen Colbert, Nada Surf, Michael Stipe). It comes hot on the heels of the sextet's well-received sixth album,Communion, where the Grammy-nominated group struts their classic-rock sound, a mix of epic neo-psychedelia and urgent, riff-laden soul.
"We didn’t really think about the songs we played," said vocalist Ebbot Lundberg about the band's Live at Lime session. "I can't really analyze how it works. If it feels good, it feels good."
"TSOOL embody what we hope for when recording these sessions — great musicianship, a fun attitude, and a willingness to play around and give us fresh takes on their material," said Tom Monday, Director of Partner Relations. "Add an award-winning engineer like Geoff Sanoff to the mix and it’s like magic — it was a joy to watch these guys at work.”
Watch the band lay down "Second Life Replay" in the studio here in this exclusive video. These talented Swedes also talk about how their songs evolve and how they've managed to maintain creative control of their musical destiny since forming in 1995. Sit back, relax, and crank it up.

Worldwide Release of "The Immaculate Convergence EP"
Just back from a hectic US Tour which included sold out shows in San Diego and San Francisco, an amazing show at The El Rey in Los Angeles with guest performance from MC5's Wayne Kramer, TV Shows in New York, LA and Chicago and appearances at Classic Rock Q104.3 and Sirius Radio in New York, the band is psyched to announce the release of their new digital EP 'The Immaculate Convergence'.
This new EP from Tsool is the extension of their latest double CD "Communion" and the bridge to their forthcoming album Origin (vol II).
It starts off with a new single version of "THE PASSOVER" – an epic classic that ended the "Communion" album (and many of the live shows on last year’s tour), followed by 3 brand new tracks: "TAKE ME BACK", "SNUFF PARADE" and "FROM THIS MOMENT". All three beautiful laidback tunes for the spring break...
And from this moment on Tsool will spew out new tracks digitally during 2010-2011 and continue to deliver their magical live shows until the physical release of Origin Vol II...
10 March 2010
Ok folks, time to sum up the second half of the American tour.
It has, as always, been a pleasure playing for you and walking your streets.
Austin:
Highlights: The gig!! A top 3 on the tour, you Austinites surely know how
to have fun at a concert and to play outdoors in February is great for a frozen Swedish guy (Thanx Emos)!
The houseparty after was a top hangout on the tour as well, (the jumping castle, bizarre!) And not to forget the 'Don't kill your sister' painting.
Dallas:
Highlights: The first support act, Seryn. Amazing vocals, beautiful harmonies! The top second hand shop
way down to the left from the Granada theatre. Still bugs me though that we didn´t get to try the seafood shack, '
AwShucks', across the street, If someone tries it please tell me how it was!
Thanx to the owner and great staff at Granadas, great atmosphere, great catering!
Tuscon Day off
Highlights:
My god, what a day off! Hotel Congress, old favourite hangout for Dillinger - new favourite hangout for Tsool.
Beautiful interior, the 'Chicken Mole' on the hotel restaurant The Cup cafe´- a bliss. We met an old favourite, Ian Svenonius,
at the restaurant. He used to be in the groovy band 'Make up' and is now leading the equally groovy 'Chain and the Gang'.
It turned out they played the diner/rock bar The Grill that night together with Strangeboys, the latter turned out to be the perfect
missing link between Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan and The Strokes. They made us so happy that we couldn´t stop ordering the Red Sail Ale and celebrating with the local Indie rock crowd. Tipsy and mesmerized by the last Iansong we all went to bed.
Tuscon Gig day
Not surpisingly, Tuscon turned out to be a cool city in the daytime aswell, great bands like Calexico and Giant Sand must have a reason why they live here. We stroll down 4th street and in the afternoon we create chaos and loud noise in the very nice local radiostation to promote the gig.
We try "Age of no reply" as an opener at the Rialto and end the evening again at the Grill. Don´t miss the Guatemalan restaurant at 4th street if you go to Tuscon, the sausage is almost worth the flight!
The expected summer experience in Texas didn´t happen but when we wake up in San Diego it's there for sure! We take a traditional Tsool hike around the city to warm up our frozen bodies, admiring the flowers and the palmtrees and end up by the sea. All the Gothenburg people cheer the harbour atmosphere and we end up drinking mexican beer watching and the cargo ships unload. The Casbah is packed with people (soldout) and the evening opens up with our friends The Loons with legendary Ugly Things editor Mike Stax by the mic, better than ever! Nico Vega has usual, well deserved success and we finish off with a set with more obscure songs than usual, there are a few Tsool connosieurs in San Diego...
Pomona
We start off with a morning Tv sessions on FUEL Tv's Daily Habit in LA, finding the right sado masochistic pleasure in playing rock´n roll early in the morning, but the taping of Thrill me and Second life replay turns out well, check Tsool.net for airing details. After that we go to our first visit ever to Pomona, a quiet city 45 minutes from La. Everyone enjoys a lazy day with a very nice Vietnamese restaurant as
the highlight. The Band 'Once' with our friend Sami Rayman on vocals, is the first opener this night and in LA and he turns out to be a real star on stage.
Ebbots birhday! Everyone is excited to be back in glossy LA and some of us celebrate with traditional get-the-tourblues-out-of-the-body super long walks from El Rey to Melrose, we always try our best to deny the fact that you need a car here and end up with acheing bones and tourist-tans.
At the beautiful venue our hero Wayne Kramer (MC5) meets up for Sound Check, and kids at christmas, is the best way to describe our feelings when we rehearse Kick out the jams with him the first time... The crowd is big and happy, Nico Vega makes us all wonder if we could possibly raise the temperature after their manic energy and their vocalist Ajas beautiful voodolike stagepresence. We do our best to match and when Wayne enters I think you could mention the word ecstasy. This, and Ebbot has to be celebrated and we all go to our old favourite hangout The Hollywood Standard for drinks, champagne and birthdaycakes. Some of our Nico Vega friends plus Mihal, who´s been there as a blogging witness for the tour, joins us later for one of the best busfeasts ever, complete with White Moose Dj:ing that includes Mexican easy listening which makes us dance and cry out of laughing. What a nice mess!
San Fransisco
Probably our favourite U.S. city and the home of our sound and light guy and now dear friend Hunter, is greeting us with springlike weather. Knackered and happy after the LA-night, we step out for a great brunch. We´ve never had a bad thing to eat in this town and the brunch gets us in acceptable shape for an acoustic performance taped by SPIN-TV up in a park with an amazing wiew over the bay. Before the gig the great Jay Blakesberg takes some new band shots of us that will appear here soon and then some of us went with our San Fran-friends Jan and Mimmi to Bar Crudo for oysters and shellfish from heaven, a nice contrast to the truckstops we usually dine at. The line is long, the club is full and it´s basicly a beautiful evening with a set that includes one of the favorite songs 'Black star'. The show ends with a party in the dressing room followed by amazing late-late night burgers at Acme burger house. God bless San Francisco!
The last day of the tour starts with flights back to the winter. The gig is at the nice, new venue Lincoln Hall. Dawn, long time friend and fan, meets up with brownies and makes us feel at home - get well soon. Dawn! Some of us don't make it in time for Sound Check so the checking line up includes White Moose and Ebbot on guitars and Backline-John on keys, good to know that we´re settled if something happens....
Ebbot makes a slow building sunday set that starts off with Lost Prophets, everything ends up though in the usual chaos and the crowd seems happy
as we join them for the last drinks of the tour. To squeeze out the very last energy in our bodies, we get up really early to play at WGN morning news before we make the flight home. The morning take on Thrill Me went well, check it out and see what a little powder can do for supertired faces!
Bye America, see you soon!
Thanx to Holger, White Moose-Hellberg, Hunter, Chris and John for super nice company and amazing work! Thanks to Bruce, David, Ronnie, Courtney, Josh, Emily and all Yep Roc people and special thanks to Tierney from Tell all your friends.
Nico Vega! May we soon share dressing room again and may your path to the obvious stardom be quick and smooth. Love ya!

Tour Report Entry #9 - 1 December 2009
#9 Innsbruck
Half of the band went home for a few days and when we met up there were stories to be told. Ian got inspired by the clear alpine air
and decided to take a solo walk to the mountaintop near town, a more than 5 hour walk! He came back down just before nightfall,
very close to spending a, probably, quite scary time alone in the woods with wildboars and donkeys. Ebbot met his 4 meter tall ancestor
in the street (photo later), did some serious artmuseum inspections and found some inspiring, bizarre 15th century art that might end up
as coverwork in the future. The city of Innsbruck is in total christmas dress and we took up the nice local custom of having a cup of gluhwein
in ceramic cups that you can take with you as you stroll along in the Disney-like, chrismas-decorated old town. This is the first full showday
for the stand in for Bärjed (home w/ family), the old friend of the band Mattias Hellberg (The White Moose, Hederos/Hellberg) and to get
everyone in a good mood and relaxed before this first time ever, TSOOL guitar stand-in gig, we decided to have an extra nice dinner before the gig.
And man, our wish was fulfilled for sure! We completely let ourselves be guided by the Chef and waiter at the small 'Trattoria Il Gusto'
and had a definitive, top 3 dinner ever in Tsool history, completed with a Tiramisu that made our eyes a little wet actually.
After that, nothing could go wrong and the gig turned out to be a real positive and groovy one with a dancing, smiling audience.
Hellberg is relieved afterwards. It´s not an easy task to stand in for Bärjed but if someone could pull it off, it would be him,
coming from the same town, band(Nynphet Noodlers) and being close friend with him since ever... After the show we spent some time with the
friendly natives of Innsbruck and then crawled back into our red bus (our sweet home for a few weeks),
and headed off to Vienna to be on time for an early morning video shoot.
Tour Report Entry #8 - 29 November 2009
#8 Munich Nov 23 -
Munich started off with a bandmeeting at the Hofbräuhaus (where else?).
Discussed a possible US Tour with Holger in Februay/March 2010. Everybody felt positive about it so hopefully this will happen.
Went to the venue (59:1) for another soundcheck. This time with White Moose singer Mattias Hellberg on guitar.
The place was packed and the show was a lot of fun. Mattias Hellberg joined us on stage during the encore playing "Broken Imaginary Time".
Mattias Bärjed was moonstoping in the audience creating a mosh-pit. The concert ended in euphoric chaos. Some Prosecco on the house
to celebrate our return to the German club scene and hopes of coming back in 2010. Spent a day off in Munich wandering around buying some movies.
"More" (with Pink Floyd) and "The decline of the Western Civilization" (Feauring: Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Germs etc).
Haven't seen that film for a while. Very inspiring stuff indeed. Left Munich for Innsbruck shortly after midnight.
Tour Report Entry #7 - 27 November 2009
GEBÄUDE 9, Cologne
Woke up in Cologne greeted by the great people at Gebäude 9.
Pascal, Tobias and everybody else were great all day and the Coffee,
Breakfast and Internet connections started off a great day. Cleansed body
and soul with some green tea at a Chinese restaurant and a visit to the
Dome. Last gig with supportband "The Fox Machine". They played another great
gig and the place was packed even though it was Sunday. All ages, both
sexes, and it seems our crowd is getting more and more mixed which is
pretty cool. And the shows keep getting better and better. The band was
having an afterparty in the bar w. friends of Rocco Klein (Great Tsool fan
and German TV-personality who sadly passed away in 2004. He was the
Inspiration for "Song for the others" - the lyrics were actually written
one hour before his funeral which we attended with Happy Tom from
Turbonegro five years ago). Left Cologne with a weird mix of joy and
emptiness and dedicate this visit to Rocco.
Tour Report Entry #6 - 23 November 2009
Knust - Hamburg
Walked around at the flea market all day. Bought an accoustic guitar and
an old harmonica, some singles, and a pilot jacket.
Took the tram with Holger to Reeperbahn to buy some equipment for my
camcorder before soundcheck. Met actor Bruno Ganz for a
short coffe and gave him a copy of "A Present From The Past" because he did
not have that one. Did an interview with Ravenburger magazine.
Went on stage around ten. The place was sold out. The show was maybe even
better than Berlin. Audience was amazing. The harmonica was not.
Gave it away to the audience during 'Second Life Replay'. After the show,
went to a club nearby to meet up with some old friends
from Ibd booking agency (who some of us worked with back in the 80's). Left
Hamburg around 2 am. Tried to play "Trivial Pursuit" on the bus with Ian,
Martin, Holger, Mattias Hellberg, John & Don. It didn't work so well,
because we were obviously too disträ to read any questions. Went to sleep
instead and dreamt traditional Big Red Bus dreams.
Tour Report Entry #5 - 22 November 2009
Flew to Berlin. Went straight to a live radioshow at Motor FM and played 2
songs. Did a mellow version of "Flipside" with one accoustic guitar(Mattias
on guitarpicking - Ian handclap and backing vocals). After that song
Mattias, Fredrik, and Kalle left the studio for a coffebreak leaving Martin,
Ian, & I to do an even mellower version of "Lifeline".
Went to Lido (which is the name of the venue). Met up with support band "The
Fox Machine". Pretty cool band from Berlin/Gothenburg. Great singer as well.
Did some rehearsing, did an interview for "Noise Effects Tv" with Martin &
Fredrik. The show was filmed by both NOISE effects and Urban TV and will
be broadcasted on. www.xxx.
Thereafter Holger and I (our manager) went to do another radioshow and had
some gluhwein. Went back to Lido and watched a great gig by The Fox Machine.
Tsool went on early (around 9 pm). Had great lighting with a Tsool
movie projected behind us throughout the show. The audience was amazing and
the show was fantastic. Freaks and friends showed up backstage afterwards
and the party was on. Then the tsool cattle were herded into the tourbus by
Holger for an early departure to Hamburg. Woke up early discovering that
our bright red tourbus was parked in the middle of a big fleamarket. We
were in paradise! Bought some old vinyl singles and some 16th century
artefacts. KNUSTS venue manager offered sublime Curry wurst and Cappuccino.
Great venue, great people, should be a great show at Knust.
TSOOL
Tour Report Entry #4 - 17 November 2009
TSOOL hits Alps & how Ebbot got his name
Early morning in Bern. Took a trip with the band to Chamonix where Ian´s elder sister Tina lives.
(A nice old big french house by the foothills of Mont Blanc.)
We all decided to take a walk to the top of the mountain (yes, Mont Blanc) with her Norwegian dog.
Everybody felt a little bit exhausted but the view was amazing. French capricorns were all over the place
and we all felt like Jimmy Page (his scene from "the song remains the same" - if you´ve seen that movie) climbing upwards to the top.
Then we took a slide downhill back to the house like the old vikings we are.
Then had a late dinner at a Scandinavian bar in the village of Chamonix. Fredrik, Ian & Martin bought some old French cheese.
I was just wandering around having a flashback how it was back in dec -85 to jan-86 right before the name "Ebbot" was mentioned for the first time.
Happened at a homecoming party after being in Chamonix with skateboarding friends.
Some of them are now playing in Swedish heavy metal-kings Mustasch (formerly a band called "Charlie Don´t Surf" with Ian on guitar before joining Union Carbide).
The Stonefunkers were also on that trip...
At that homecoming party, we were all trying to talk backwards after inhaling herbal-oriented cigarettes and drinking loads of wine.
That´s how I got the name Ebbot...we recorded the whole thing on tape. Don´t know where that tape is now but someone certainly has it.
Anyway...
Left Chamonix for Lausanne and came to the venue right before soundcheck. Listening to ELO backstage.
Even though we had no lighting guy, this show was the best on this trip to Switzerland.
Went to the hotel and the guy at the front desk looked exactly like Elvis Costello which was kind of a funny sequence.
Had to leave early for Gothenburg for a photo-session for "Under the Radar" about Swedish music.
The photo shoot went down well and then had to get back home to get some long lost sleep.
Overall the little Swiss experience was a thrill.
Berlin next this friday...
Cheers!
Ebbot
Tour Report Entry #3 - 15 November 2009
The day in Bern starts with an acoustic gig
in the living room at the Swedish embassy's residence.
After doing similar gigs in Tokyo and LA
we sure know how to make people razzle their jewels,
though this time, the ambassador Per Thöresson,
turns out to be a big fan, as well as a drummer,
The rest of the audience was mainly from the music busines.
A good start to the day it was, surely,
and an effective way to get rid of
the last remnants of the fatherhood celebration.
We also manage to do the embassy gig
without drawing the attention of the police,
as you loyal readers remember happened last time in LA.
At the club ISC we witness a fantastic set by Daniel Benjamin and his compadres
which puts us in even better spirits for the gig on the narrow stage.
The night is sold out and a lot of happy faces greet us when we kick off the Babel on intro.
We try a new take on the songs from the ocean, a request from Per,
and the set also includes come back for Inra riot
which makes us speed up and nostalgic at the same.
Evening ends with socializing with friends and fans and some white russians,
ISC is a highly recommended place to visit if you´re ever in Bern!
Zurich-Wintertur - We touch the ground at the Zurich airport,
ready for our first Swiss club tour since 2004!
The Final destination for the day is Wintertur,
where the evening rock spectacle is supposed to take place,
but we decide to take a trip down memory lane to the area around the Mascotte club,
where we played last time around.
The smell of money is easy to feel among all the antiqueshops in the old town,
as we shop for jugendlamps and old books.
In Wintertur we finally end up at the very nice club Gaswerk,
and meet the equally nice opening act Daniel Benjamin band, label mates from Haldern Pop.
The gig is, more than ever, based on Communion songs
and the vibe is extremely positive and vital.
The two month break really worked wonders and,
both bandmembers and audience seem to have a craving for Tsool
that needs to be fullfilled...
After the gig a celebration of Mattias' fatherhood takes place
and the evening ends in the spirit of dark rum and brotherhood.
Tour Report Entry #1 - 12 November 2009
Our first gig after a 2 month break after Mattias had his first born child.
A son named Aron with large fingers. Already plucking Gasolin riffs on a very small guitar.
Did not do any soundcheck.
Played frisbee with Fredrik instead at the beach.
Started to play in a big tent at 20:30 pm.
Great Crowd.
Not a teenager in sight though.
Infact - I don´t think anybody was younger than 30 in the audience.
And lots of old Union Carbide fans shouting songtitles from the past.
Nevermind.
Did that myself when I was younger watching Black Flag with Henry Rollins.
2 extra numbers.
Ended the show with Mantra Slider and Jehovah Sunrise.
The crowd was hysteric.
Stayed to watch the Editors, Brendan Benson and The Flaming Lips.
The Flaming Lips were amazing.
Wish we could have that ambition when it comes to scenery and light.
Overall the festival was great.
